Durwood Eugene HollomanJr., 59, of Mount Olive, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Born in Goldsboro, NC, Durwood was the son of Eugene and Margaret Burch Holloman.
He will be remembered for his acts of kindness, his love for playing drums,and his tireless acts of service to Salem Advent Christian Church where he was a life-long member. He is survived by his parents; sister, Matilda Marriner and husband, Steve; sister, Diane Graham and husband,Jeffrey, all of Sleepy Creek in Dudley, along with three nephews, one niece and two great nieces. Durwood was preceded in death by a stillborn sister, MartaJean; grandparents, Eddis & Jewel Holloman and Earl & Julia Burch.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 24th, 10 AM at Salem Advent Christian Church, 909 N. Church Street, Mt. Olive, followed by an 11 AM service of remembrance in the sanctuary.. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Eugene Holloman. Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Salem Advent Christian Church.
