Harris Virgil Moen, 78, passed away on Sunday morning at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Harris was born in Kittson County, Minnesota on May 12, 1941 to the late Harold T. Moen and Verna Sanner Moen Wollin. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. Harris retired from Nahunta Pork Center as a controller and was a member of Nahunta Friends Church where he served as treasurer for over 20 years. A music lover, Harris played the trumpet in high school and during his service in the military. He was a singer with the group “Third Century Singers” in Goldsboro.
Harris is survived by his son, Todd Moen and former spouse Lindsay of Pikeville; daughter, Andrea Medlin and husband Todd of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Kay Huber of Surprise, Arizona; brothers, Henry Moen of Bemidji, Minnesota and Owen Moen of Minnetonka, Minnesota; and grandchildren, Chase Moen, Ava Moen and Jacob Medlin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Inez Sasser
Moen.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2019 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Harris’ life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Eric Woods officiating. Interment will be private at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton with Military Honors.
