Edith Holland Lancaster, 80, of the Patetown Community passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Edith was born in Wayne County on February 3, 1939 to the late Roland and Lillian Valentine Holland. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ray Thomas Lancaster, on May 1, 2019. Edith worked hard to take care of her family and had been employed by Cozart Packing Company, Imperial Sandwich Company, Excell-Linde Manufacturing and with First Baptist Church Child Development Center.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with Vickie Mozingo officiating.
Edith is survived by her son, Dale R. Lancaster and wife Tammy; daughter, Kathy L. Lewis and husband William; grandchildren, Heather L. Jackson and husband Justin, Christopher E. Zieg, Brian E. Lancaster and wife Cassandra, David S. Lancaster and Amy Z. Wright and husband Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Addison C. Jackson, Mason C. Jackson, Reagan E. Wright and Iris Y. Lancaster. She is also survived by her brothers, Billy Holland and Gary Holland.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Hales and brother, Albert Holland.
