Nathan Ray Wolfe, 59, completed his journey home early Thursday morning to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.” He was born September 11, 1958 in Johnson City, TN to the late Mollie Page Wolfe. Nathan had worked with Cheney Brothers, Inc. before his sickness.
Nathan was an unusually fine man. He was adored by his family, for whom he was a source of joy and strength, but also by countless others, from old friends to new acquaintances, all of whom were struck by his quiet generosity, his kind and unassuming intelligence, and his innate courteousness. More than anything else, Nathan has been devoted to his wife.
Nathan loved The First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a dedicated and faithful servant. He had a large extended circle of family and friends with the Grill Team and the Hospitality Team and they were all very special to him. Nathan and Melissa had also been faithful members of the Oak Ridge Church of God of Prophecy for many years. His passion was golf, basketball and collegiate sports, especially Tennessee. He will be missed, but greatly remembered.
A service to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Rose and Rev. Lutrell Spell officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church and other times at the home of Skip and Brenda Farley, 797 Buck Swamp Road, Goldsboro. Burial will be on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City, TN. The family will also greet friends following this service at the cemetery.
Nathan is survived by his wife of 29 years, Melissa Farley Wolfe; siblings, Juanita Faye Hodge of Johnson City, TN, Fred Carson Wolfe and wife Patsy of Piney Flats, TN, Thelma Lucille Reed of Piney Flats, TN, Janice Sue Wyatt and husband Danny Steve of Telford, TN, Ada Lynn Frye and husband Eddie of Piney Flats, TN, Jake Wolfe and wife Wesley of Johnson City, TN, Allen Lee Wolfe of Kingsport, TN and Brenda Kay Silver and husband Ronnie of Telford, TN; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews he loved very much. He is also survived by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Brenda and Skip Farley of Goldsboro.
