Sallie Belle Odom Davis

Mrs. Sallie Belle Odom Davis, 98 year-old resident of the Dobbersville community, passed away at home Thursday morning, May 3, 2018.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 6, at 3 p.m. at Brownings United Methodist Church with the Rev. Arthur Warren officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall of the church, and at other times at the home of Verlie and Tim Reeves. Flowers are welcome, and so are memorial gifts to Brownings Church or to Home-Health-and Hospice (3HC), Goldsboro. Burial will be in Wayne Memorial Park following a 10:00 a.m. committal service on Monday, May 7.

Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Davis; a son, William P. Davis, Jr.; a daughter, Eunice Davis; her parents, J.J. and Janie H. Odom; and two brothers, Tatum Odom and Melville Odom.

Those surviving include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jane D. and Norwood Head, and Verlie D. and Tim Reeves, all of Mount Olive, and Sallie D. and Mike Venable of Goldsboro; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Davis of Dudley; nine grandchildren, Emily H. Brock and husband, Dean, Keever Davis, Wesley Head and wife, Hailey, Daniel Davis and wife, Heather, Brian Reeves and April Ramirez, Maile V. Elliott and husband, Tyler, Kyle Reeves and wife, Lindsay, Melia Venable and Jose Menendez-Aponte, and Michael Venable; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Cecil Keith Odom of Mount Olive; a sister, Verlie o. Jones of Morehead City; two sisters-in-law, Johnnie Davis and Ellen Davis.
