Joyce Wiggs Mitchell, 65, was born in Wayne County to the late Jessie Cleveland and Elise Jones Wiggs, and was married to Donald Mitchell. Joyce loved going to church and church singings. She had worked in housekeeping for Wayne Community College before retiring.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Pastor Bessie Wiggs officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cindy Ziegler and husband, John of Rosewood; two sons, Michael Casey and wife, Lorna of Raeford, NC and Daniel Casey of Tampa, FL; two sisters, Geraldine Hufstetler of Goldsboro and Mary Kraemer and husband, George of Guyton, GA; three brothers, Kenneth Wiggs and wife, Carol of Wills Point, TX Charles Wiggs and wife, Becky of Goldsboro, and Richard Wiggs and wife, Joan of Goldsboro; a sister in law, Pamela Lancaster of Dudley; and five grandchildren, Taylor Katz, Jennifer Stone, Dillon Ziegler, Kyla Casey, Denise Casey, and Michael Casey Jr.
