Sybil Carlyle Killette of La Grange, peacefully received her heavenly call on Monday, March 5, 2018. Sybil was born April 18, 1933 in Lenoir County to the late Levi and Effie Grady Carlyle. Her husband of sixty five years, Robie B. Killette, preceded her in death on September 14, 2017.
A service to celebrate and remember Sybil’s life will be held Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 7 p.m. from La Grange First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie V. Hobgood officiating. Burial will be Thursday at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery.
Sybil is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Kornegay and husband, Gary; son, Robie B. Killette, Jr. and wife, Eloise; nine grandchildren, Brandon Wade and fiancee, Kristy Blake, Matthew Wade and wife, Kim, Amber Hatcher, Hoyt Killette, Steve Killette and wife, Leah, Tara Dail Minder and husband, Brian, Ethan Dail, Shawn Tilghman and husband, Ben, and Samuel Kornegay and wife, Amy; thirteen great-grandchildren, McKinnon Wade, Aiden Wade, Alyssa Hatcher, Christian Heath, Bella Heath, Faith Minder, Marisa Austin, Ryan Minder, Evan Minder, Kaitlyn Minder, Bailey Tilghman, Cooper Tilghman and Andrew Kornegay; and two sisters, Grace Herring and Clemmie White. In addition to her parents and husband Sybil was preceded in death by eight siblings, Mary Rouse, Joseph Carlyle, Fred Carlyle, Albert Carlyle, Virginia Arthur, Frances Edwards, William Carlyle and Inez Carlyle.
