Johnie Mack Hare, 73, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

Mack was born in Wayne County on May 24, 1944 to the late Robert and Dollie Jones Hare.  He was a member of Patetown Church of God.  Mack proudly served his country in the United States Army.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Mack’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Marvin Wiggins and Rev. Jimmy Scott officiating.  Interment will be Thursday, August 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mack is survived by his wife, Betty Stocks Hare; son, Leonard Hare and his children of West Virginia; and brother, Watus Hare and wife Vicki of Kenly.  He is also survived by his extended family which includes several step children, step grandchildren, a step great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews that he loved very much.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Alice Faye Jones Hare and Beverly Politz Hare and three brothers, Charles Ray “Chuck” Hare, James Hare and Robert Edward Hare.

Memorials may be given in Mack’s memory to Patetown Church of God, 215 Church of God Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
