April 25, 80, La Grange Robert L. Creech, of La Grange, passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. Robert was born November 20, 1935 in Greene County to the late Roy Ralph Creech and Lucy Parks Creech. Robert’s wife, Margie Etheridge Creech, preceded him in death on June 20, 2014. Robert grew up in Greene County, graduated from Snow Hill High School and in earlier years farmed with his father. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He served his country seven years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Robert later moved to Maryland and worked as a drywall contractor for thirty years. He retired in 2000 and moved back home to Greene County. Upon his marriage to his beloved Margie he settled in La Grange and became a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church.
A graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 11 a.m. from Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Fowler officiating.
Robert is survived by a sister, Berry Creech Pittman of Kinston; brother, William Douglas Creech and wife, MaryAnn of Snow Hill; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by three siblings, Roy R. Creech Jr., George Warren Creech and Geraldine Creech.
