Cora Ezzell Sassano, 77, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Cora was born in Wayne County on May 17, 1940 to the late Romus and Aliease Daniels Ezzell. She had retired as the manager of Beneficial Finance after 30 years of service. Cora will be remembered for her unconditional love as a wife and mother, and a friend to all. Family was paramount to Cora, and she loved nothing more than her husband, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A service to celebrate Cora’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Heath officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at her home.
Cora is survived by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Edward Sassano, Sr.; children, Thomas Edward Sassano, Jr. (Carol Long), Teresa Forrest Renfroe (Mark) and LeaAnne O’Mara (Daniel); grandchildren, Ashley Clifton Forrest, Christopher Musser, Blakely Nicole Sassano, Austin Craig Forrest, Adam Daniel O’Mara, Dakota-Lee Sassano Torsella, and Jonathon Thomas O’Mara; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Ed Ezzell (Donna); sisters, Faye Enriquez (Joe) and Lynette Williams and several nieces and nephews she loved very much.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Seymour and Bill Seymour; sister, Frances Harrell; son-in-law, Cliff Forrest; and brother-in-law, Charles Williams.
