Mable Gwyn Toler Gray, 75, passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Mable was born in Johnston County on October 22, 1941 to the late Harris C. Toler, Sr. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Jane Peedin Toler. For many years she worked as a caregiver in a children’s daycare and later as a sitter with the elderly. Mable had a great love for the outdoors and she enjoyed yard work and gardening, as reflected by her beautiful yard. Mable leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Her enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in the Princeton Cemetery with her niece, Ivy Parker, presiding.
Mable is survived by her husband, Larry Gray; sisters, Mae T. Parker and husband Ed and Nellie T. Martin; brothers, H.C. Toler and wife Linda and Keith Toler and wife Julia; and eleven nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her faithful K-9 friend, Ginger.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Toler; and sister, Anne Toler McCormick.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
