Magdeline Pope Gooding, age 66, died Saturday at Somerset in Goldsboro. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Owen Moses Pope, Jr. and Bertie Louise Potter Pope and sister of the late Wayne Pope.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Wayne Memorial Park. Family members will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Maggie is survived by her husband, George Steve Gooding; three sons, Ellis Gooding and wife, Jennifer, Thomas Gooding and wife, Tonia, and Jerry Chandler; two daughters, Kathy Goins and Linda Neal and husband, Tommy; her brothers, Michael Pope, Mark Pope and wife, Jenny; sisters, Loretta Knowles and husband, Tommy, Bonnie P. Smith and husband, James, Wanda Ray and husband, Kenny; a sister in law, Vera Pope; seventeen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a friend Gloria Perry.
The family requests that memorial donations be directed to Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, P.O. Box 167, Goldsboro, NC 27533 to assist with funeral expenses.
