November 26, 79, Seven Springsanne-blanchard

Anne Mozingo Waters Blanchard, 79, of Seven Springs, peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at her home. Anne was born November 25, 1937 in Wayne County to the late Paul J. Mozingo and Helen Price Mozingo. Anne was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Whitfield Waters and Harry Wells Blanchard. Small in stature only, Anne was always well dressed and personified class in all areas of her life. She was intelligent, loving, patient, organized, giving, always in charge and used a no nonsense approach with just a dose of sassy that made the total package. Anne graduated from East Carolina University with a Masters Degree in Education and embarked on a thirty year career with Wayne Community College where she taught in the Business Department. Anne was a longtime member of Seven Springs United Methodist Church. Anne was an avid reader, loved long walks, music and most of all cherished time spent with her family.

A service to celebrate and honor Anne’s life will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 2 p.m. from Seven Springs United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

A loving, Christian wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Anne is survived by two daughters, Cindy Waters Hill and her companion, Tony Hardy, and Dawn Waters Schappell and her husband, Steve; four grandchildren, Daniel Hill, Elizabeth Schappell, Victoria Hill and Stephanie Schappell; two siblings, Lloyd M. Mozingo and wife, Carolyn, and Betty Lou Rhodes; and her brother-in-law, Charles Daly and wife, Jean. Anne was also preceded in death by two siblings, Floyd B. Mozingo and Paula M. Daly.

Anne’s family will receive friends Monday from 1-2 p.m. at Seven Springs United Methodist Church. Anne’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Anne’s caregivers, Alice Jones, Pam Mozingo, Bonnie Farmer, Vickie Rae Stanley, the staff of 3HC and others who lovingly and tenderly cared for Anne.
