Barbara Garnell Barefoot Brogden, age 90, passed away early Thursday morning at Genesis Healthcare in Mount Olive. Born in Sampson County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Leo and Octavia Register Barefoot and sister of the late, Frances Jernigan, Wesley Barefoot and George Barefoot. Mrs. Brogden was a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church in Grantham.
A graveside service for close friends and family will be held Sunday at 3:00pm at Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Ellis officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Ray Brogden; her children, Kaye Brogden Harrell and husband, Dannie Harrell, Marty Brogden and wife, Ann Brogden, Jeff Brogden and wife, Mindy Brogden; her sisters, Edith Sasser and Iris Coston; her brothers, Shelton Barefoot, Floyd Barefoot, Glenn Barefoot and Gerald Barefoot; her grandchildren, Shawn Brogden, Tim Harrell and Beth Lane; along with her great grandchildren, Kia Lane, Kaiya Lane and Landon Harrell.
