William Cameron Smith, 70, of Morehead City passed away Thursday at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern. He is the son of the late Bill and Betty Hill Smith. Cameron enjoyed time spent with his friends, and time at the beach, as well as a good NASCAR race. Cameron had served in the North Carolina National Guard, and was retired with 30 years of service from Bell South.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the Smith Family Cemetery on Adams Rd. in Seven Springs, NC with Gary Goodfellow officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Cameron is survived by his daughter, Lora Smith of La Grange; a step son, Jason Phelps of Goldsboro; 2 brothers, Keith Smith and wife, Vickie of Goldsboro and Ricky Smith of Princeton; an aunt, Edna House and husband, Austin of Mt. Olive; a niece, Melissa Smith Goodfellow and husband, Gary; a nephew, Keith Smith II; several great nieces; and a great nephew.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Major Steven Smith preceded Cameron in death.
