September 29, 90, Goldsboro

Adell Grady Mozingo, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

On June 3, 1929, Adell was born to the late Walter Graham Grady and Burchie Elizabeth Sauls Grady. She was married for 52 years to the late Alvin Winson Mozingo. Adell was a dedicated member of Clingman Street Church of God, now Goldsboro Worship Center.

Adell was a talented gardener and floral arrangement artist, working for years independently, then with the Berkeley Florist and later at Pinewood Florist down the street from her home. She brought beauty to everything she touched. Family was of foremost importance to Adell. She perfected many amazing recipes for her husband, children, and grandchildren, and she was always there to support them and pray for them, no matter what the circumstances.

If you knew Adell, you knew she was a praying woman. For many years, she drove all around North Carolina to attend Church of God camp meetings and to pray for those in need. She was known to never stop praying until she received her answer from the Lord, and the results were often miraculous. Her dedication to her church, to her faith, and to her community endeared her to many.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Goldsboro Worship Center with Pastor Danny Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Adell is survived by her daughter, Gay Mozingo Coker and husband, R. Brantley Coker of Coker’s Mill; her daughter, Kela Mozingo Preston of Saulston; her grandchildren, Amber Butler, Tyler Preston, Daniel Coker, and Nathan Coker; her great-grandchildren, Riley Butler and Ada Butler; her brother, Relmond Grady and wife, Marty Grady; as well as other beloved family members, neighbors, and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Adell was preceded in death by four of her siblings, Giles Grady, Inez Johnson, Thelma Chase, and Marie Turnage.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Goldsboro Worship Center, 900 W New Hope Rd, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Online condolences may be sent to www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
