David Rudolph Thornton, 63, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 2, 2019 at his home.
David was born in Germany on July 25, 1956 to Dixie Thornton and the late Yoshiko Uwai. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1992. For many years, David owned and operated Thornton’s Furniture at the Goldsboro Flea Market.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12:00 noon in the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
David is survived by his wife, Diane Thornton; children, David Thornton, Michael Stader and Adam Thornton, nine grandchildren and his siblings, Emiko Conn, Bobby Thornton and Rita Thornton.
