Celion D. Holland

May 27, 83, Fremont

Celion D. Holland, age 83, of 2898 NC 581 North, Fremont, died Monday at his home. Born in Wilson County, he was the son of the late Leland and Piercy Davis Holland. Retired from Southern Optical, he was a Member and Deacon of Rains Crossroads OFWB Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Sullivan officiating. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Rose Ferrell Holland; his son & daughter-in-law, Brantley and Joanne Holland of Raleigh; his daughter & son-in-law, Linda and Al Taylor of Goldsboro; sister, Edith Beasley of Stokesdale; two grandchildren, Lee Taylor and Nicole Taylor; and his precious cat, “Muffin”.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Lugenia Mitchell, Udell Young, Magdeline Phillips, Rosa Moseley, L.C. Holland and Dora Ellen Vick.

The family would like to express heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the loving care given by Community Home Care & Hospice, special neighbors and many special friends.
