Ila Mae Corbett, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, May 3, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 07, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.
Mrs. Corbett was born in Johnston County on May 29, 1936 to the late Harvey G. Pearce and Marcella Woodard Pearce. She was a faithful member of Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for over 60 years, serving as Sunday school secretary and treasurer.
She is survived by her son, Thurston Wayne Corbett of Goldsboro; two daughters, Anita Corbett Mitchell and husband, Wayne of Princeton and Tammie Corbett of Goldsboro; two brothers, Frank Pearce and wife, Grace of Princeton and Graham Pearce and wife, Dolores of Macon, NC; two sisters, Neda Crites of Goldsboro and Edna Creech and husband, Billy of Wilson Mills; two grandchildren, Stephen Wayne Mitchell and Danielle Nicole Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren, Sophia Mitchell and Camden Mitchell.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Corbett was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston Corbett and a brother, Donald Ray Pearce.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, May 06, 2019 from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the residence.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
