Barbara Rae Spence, 83, of the Eureka Community, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2019, at Brookdale Country Day Road.
Barbara was born in LaMoure, North Dakota on August 8, 1935 to the late Lloyd Edward Berry and Dorothy Sund Berry. She was married to the late Herbert Earl Spence. Barbara was a longtime member of Eureka United Methodist Church. She was devoted to her church and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Eureka United Methodist Church followed by a service to celebrate Barbara’s life at 5:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Connie Belmore officiating. Interment will be in the Eureka Cemetery.
Barbara is survived by her son, Ed Spence and wife Vicky of Eureka; grandsons, Matt Spence and wife Alexis and Will Spence and wife Megan; and great-grandchildren, Nolan, Madelyn, Charlee and was anticipating the birth of Wyatt in August.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Berry and sister, Audrey Keil.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Barbara’s memory to Eureka United Methodist Church, 128 N. Church Street, Eureka, NC 27830.
