Marvin Caswell Bogue, 83, peacefully passed away Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family. Born in Wayne County on February 22, 1936 he was the son of the late Arthur Marvin Bogue and Evelyn Sauls Bogue.

Caswell was the owner and operator of Bogue Lawn & Cleaning Service. He was a former member of the Mar-Mac Volunteer Fire Department. Prior to his lawn care career, he worked for Pine State Creamery, NC Division of Highways, the National Guard at Fort Jackson, Pepsi, Burlington Industries, and Hamilton Beach.

Caswell had a work ethic like no other, there wasn’t a lazy bone in his body…the man loved to work! He loved people, never met a stranger and enjoyed people watching and talking. Most important in his life was his family. Caswell took excellent care of his wife and beamed with pride over his children and grandchildren.

A graveside service to celebrate Caswell’s life will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with Pastor Daniel Weeks officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Caswell is survived by his wife of sixty-one years, Nancy Whitley Bogue; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Caswell and Michele Bogue, Stephen Ross and Kim Bogue, Bert Edward Bogue, and William Ashley and Tonya Bogue; grandchildren, Matthew Caswell Bogue, Brendan Alan Rouse, Jordan Nicole Bogue, Savannah Whitley Bogue, Seth Christian Bogue, Whitley Hayden Bogue, Ashton Nicholas Bogue, and Landen Ross Bogue; sisters, Annie Sue Bogue Denning and Maxine Bogue Ward and husband, Roy; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Nora Edmundson Bogue; sisters, Jacqueline Bogue Brock and Beverly Bogue Pelt; and brother, Gibson Speight Bogue.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
