Ronnie Chalmers Mitchell

October 4, 68, Mount Olive

Ronnie Chalmers Mitchell, 68, Mount Olive area resident, passed away early Thursday morning, October 4, at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.

His life will be remembered in a service to be held Saturday, October 6, at 6 p.m. at Walker Memorial United Methodist Church, Seven Springs, N.C. The Rev. Barry Weyant will officiate. Visitation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that any memorial gifts be made to Kitty Askins Hospice, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro NC 27534.

Mr. Mitchell was a retired food safety inspector with the United States Dept. of Agriculture. He had served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlie and Ivey Bland Mitchell, and his father-in-law, Steve Sutton.

Survivors include his wife, Stephanie Sutton Mitchell; three children, William Isaac Mitchell and wife, Betsey, of Pittsboro, Crystal Lora Mitchell of Greensboro, and Kayla Noelle Swinson and special friend, Bryan Thornton, of Goldsboro; a special cousin thought of as a brother, Wallace Bland of Sanford; two sisters, Carolyn Pendergraft and husband, Johnny, of Apex, and Elaine Lasater of Sanford; seven grandchildren, Ivey and Maxie Mitchell, Zachary and Nicholas Alston, Blake and Blakely Swinson, and Brantley Thornton; a special niece, Drew Lasater of Pittsboro; and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Sutton of Scott’s Store area, Mount Oliv
