Gene Alvin Proctor, 81, passed away on Thursday at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.

Gene is survived by his wife of 32 years, Theodosia Smith Proctor; son, Al Proctor and wife Stephanie of Wilson; step-son, Al Laws and wife Denise of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Taylor Baker and husband Hunter, Brandon Proctor and fiancée Emily Nguyen, Jennifer King and Josh Laws; and his great-granddaughter, Hannah Goodson.
