Carol Ann Coltrain Lane, 83, peacefully passed away to her Heavenly reward on Monday, June 4, 2018. Carol was born in Lenoir County on August 10, 1934 to the late Perlie Lee Coltrain and Leona Bradford Coltrain.
Carol will be best remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Carol’s happiest moments were when surrounded by her family. She truly loved doting on and spoiling her grandchildren. Her family has many fond memories of time spent around her table enjoying good fellowship while savoring her wonderful cooking. In recent years the taste of a cold Mountain Dew always brought a big smile to Carol.
Carol’s strong faith in her Lord guided her throughout life. She was a longtime member of Walnut Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church.
A service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Tony McLamb and Rev. George Futrelle officiating. Burial will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.
Carol is survived by her three children and their spouses, Sandra Lane Wiggins and husband, Kenny of Richmond, Micky Lane and wife, Pam of Winterville, and Jeff Lane and wife, Janet of La Grange; seven grandchildren, Matthew Wiggins, Amanda Wiggins, Leslie Lane, Laura Lane, Scarlett Lane, Travis Lane and wife, Hannah, and Brittany Young; one great-grandson, Samuel Lane; and siblings, Perlie Coltrain, Jr. and Betty Lou Alexander. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lane and a brother, Charles Ray Coltrain.
