Mr. Willie Freeman “Dickie Bird” Garrett, 73 a resident of Willow Creek Nursing & Rehab Center, passed on Monday, June 4, 2018 at Wayne UNC Health Care, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Monday, June 11, 2018 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home of Goldsboro, NC. There interment will be private.
He was born on March 20, 1945 in Wayne County, NC to Haskell and Mary Henderson Garrett. He was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Garrett, his father, Haskell Garrett, his mother, Mary Henderson Garrett and his brother, Johnny H. Garrett.
He is survived by three sisters: Shirley J. Hinnant of Goldsboro, NC, Janie M. McCleese of Irvington, NJ and Emma B. Hamilton of Goldsboro, NC; several nieces, nephew, including a special nephew, Terrill L. Atkinson, a host of other dear Webtown buddies and friends including, Mr. Milton “Bartender” Best and Mr. Harvery Jcobs both of Goldsboro, NC.
