Pauline Sykes Stocks, 92, passed away on Monday, April 23, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Pauline was born in Wayne County on October 4, 1925 to the late Harvey and Bessie Pierce Sykes. She was married to the late George William Stocks. She worked for close to 30 years as a bookkeeper and sales clerk at McLleans dime store. Pauline loved First Free Will Baptist Church of Goldsboro and was a dedicated and faithful member.
A service to celebrate Pauline’s life will be held on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Bailey officiating. Interment will follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
Pauline is survived by her daughter, Deborah Rollins of Pikeville; son, Craig Stocks and wife Sherry of Smithfield; a grandson, Nelson Rollins and wife Sheila of Goldsboro; and granddaughter, Marci Rollins-Smart and husband Kelley of Goldsboro; great-grandchildren, Austin, Andruw, and Caiden Rollins, and Kelsie Smart; step-great-grandchildren, Morgan, Paige, and Daniel Herring; step-great-great grandchild, Mason Selfridge; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Sykes.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was proceeded in death by her brothers, Henry, Willie, Richard, and Ralph Sykes; and sisters, Rittie Brown, and Edna Langston.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to First Free Will Baptist Church of Goldsboro, 604 E. Ash Street, Goldsboro, 27530.
