July 17, 62, Walstonburg

PJ Miller received his heavenly promotion on Sunday, July 17, 2016. PJ was born March 23, 1944 in Talihina, Oklahoma to the late Gilbert Alven Miller and Janice Cunningham Miller. A people person by nature and one who never met a stranger, PJ had a way of connecting with everyone he came in contact with. He was a man who truly loved being outdoors, PJ enjoyed gardening and working in his yard. A fisherman at heart, PJ was most happy when out fishing and nothing was more pleasing than the tug of a fish on the line, no matter the size. PJ loved worshiping at Garris Chapel United Methodist Church. He was always willing to help those in need and especially enjoyed assisting in the wheelchair ramp ministry. PJ was proud of his Cherokee Indian heritage and loved a good western on television. His memory will continue to live in our hearts.

A service to celebrate and honor PJ’s life will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. from Garris Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Adam Seate officiating.

PJ is survived by his wife and best friend of forty two years, Sue Sutton Miller; two children, Tamsey Miller Evans and husband, Timothy and Andrew Timothy Miller and his fiancé’, Syvilla Wrenn; four grandchildren, James Patrick Kersey and his fiancé, Amanda Marie Sugg, Logan Evans Thorn and husband, Michael, Gavin Wrenn and Noah Wrenn; PJ’s great grand princess, Amelia Elizabeth Martin; along with his faithful canine companion, Buddy.

PJ’s family will receive friends Thursday following the memorial service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com. Memorials in PJ’s memory may be made to Garris Chapel United Methodist Church, Attn: Wheelchair Ramp Ministry, 823 Piney Grove Road, La Grange, NC 28551.
