Stephen Newell Hannum, age 36, died Thursday at his home. Born in Wayne County, he was the son of Robert “Bob”, Jr. and Lois Hannum of the home. Stephen attended the The Bridge Church and was a member of the Wayne County Special Olympics Golf Team.
A service to celebrate Stephen’s life was held privately. Family members will greet friends Monday at 3:00pm at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
In addition to his parents, Stephen is survived by his brother, Christopher “Bear” Hannum and wife, Tara; godbrother, Justin Olive and wife, Nicole; sister, Melissa “Chump” Hannum Peacock and husband, Johnny; nephews. Adam Peacock, Dawson Peacock, Ryan Hannum and Cayden Hannum; godnephew, Colton Olive; a niece, Rebecca Peacock; godparent, Ann Newell Olive; and he was preceded in death by godparents, Bruce Olive and David Newell.
