Edna Jones Wooten, 85, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Edna was born in Wayne County on May 19, 1932 and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Winnie Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Y. Wooten. Edna retired from Wayne County Public School where she worked in the school cafeteria for many years. She will be remembered by her family as an excellent cook. Edna was a member of Free Chapel P.F.W.B. Church.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Pikeville Cemetery with John Wooten officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the cemetery.
Edna is survived by her daughter, Donna W. Mooring and husband Gary of Goldsboro and son, Robert F. Wooten of Goldsboro; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Make A Wish Foundation.
