Marjorie Rose Powell, 67, of Mt. Olive passed away Friday at her home. She is the daughter of the late Needham J. and Lillie W. Rose, and is the wife of Joseph Powell Sr. Mrs. Marjorie was a nurse for Goldsboro Pediatrics for 40 years. She is also known for her folk art, some of which are at the Arts Council of Wayne County for viewing.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2:00 P.M. Committal services will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Powell is survived by a daughter, Ashly Powell of N. Topsail Beach; two sons, Joseph Powell Jr. of Edgefield, SC and Dean Powell of Mt. Olive; a brother, Michael Rose and wife, Donna of Goldsboro; four grandchildren, Jordan Riggs, Chase Cottle, Carly Powell, and Christian Powell; and a great granddaughter, Aubree Riggs.
