Willis Marshall Beasley, 78, resident of the Seven Springs area, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, August 11, 2017 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home today (Sunday, August 13) beginning at 2 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel.  The Rev. Ashley Summerlin will officiate, and burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.  His grandchildren will proudly serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

Mr. Beasley, a retired truck driver, is survived by his four children and their spouses, Ricky C. and Rose Beasley of Mount Olive, Eleanor B. and William Jones of Mount Olive, Janet B. and Bill Holland of Goldsboro, and Earl and Loretta Beasley of Seven Springs; a sister, Fannie Lou Whitfield of Mount Olive; eleven grandchildren, Lee Beasley, Brandon Beasley, Kelly B. Cole, Jesse Jones, Bradley Jones, Amanda Holland, Brianna Holland, William Holland, David Beasley, Kristen B. Hunt, and Sarah B. Kogelschatz; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Gurganus Beasley; two infant daughters, Sandy Beasley and Sandra Beasley; his mother, Willie Whitfield Beasley; his father, Willie Crooms Beasley; two step-mothers, Mattie Tyson Beasley and Ruth Jones Beasley; and three brothers, Jennings “Bud” Beasley, Norwood Beasley, and Kenneth Beasley.
