Cora Lee Hill Roberts, 94, went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 8, 2017 at the Brian Center in Clayton.
Cora Lee was born in Wayne County on March 6, 1923 to the late Robert Lee Hill and Anna Estelle Eason Hill. She was married to the love of her life, Warren Jerill Roberts on October 27, 1942. Cora Lee was the rock of her family, her husband and children knew that she loved them with all her heart and truly was a blessing to them. After raising her family, she began working with Americal and later retired. Cora Lee had been a member of the original Oak Heights Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church and later the Rosewood Worship Center. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Her enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to honor Cora Lee’s life at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating. Interment will conclude the service in Wayne Memorial Park.
Cora Lee is survived by her daughter, Patricia Roberts Stephenson and husband Reid of Garner; sons, Meredith G. Roberts and wife Joann of Princeton, and Stephen C. Roberts and friend Hilda of Pikeville; granddaughters, Melanie Roberts Rains and husband Bryan, and Jerrie Roberts Barbato and husband Ricky; and great-grandchildren, Zoe, Law, Hailey, Gina, Meredith and Gracelynne. She is also survived by Bessie Beamon of Goldsboro, and her brother, Burnice Hill and wife Shirley of Goldsboro.
In addition to her husband and parents, Cora Lee was preceded in death by her sisters, Alice Rose, Louise Zambelli, and Mozelle Hines; and brothers, Buddy Hill, Edward Hill, and Ham Hill.
The Roberts family would like to acknowledge the staff of the Brian Center in Clayton, as well as the friends, caregivers, nurses, and physicians who had a profound impact on the quality of Cora Lee’s life in recent years.
