Brendan Joseph “B.J.” Garris, 37, of Deep Run, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017. B.J. was born February 11, 1980 in Wayne County to Preston Franklin Garris and Brenda Foss Garris. B.J.’s passion was music and with B.J. it was always about the music. He lived to play his beloved Les Paul Guitar. The complications of life would always disappear for B.J. when playing the guitar. He especially loved playing the music of Led Zeppelin. B.J. graduated from the University Of Mt. Olive with a degree in business. He was currently working in the hardware department at the R-Mart in Albertson. An aspiring businessman, B.J. took great pride in establishing his own lawn care business, Garris Lawn Care. His candle burns brightly in our hearts.
A service to celebrate B.J.’s life will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In addition to his parents, B.J. is survived by his fiancee, Wanda Rouse; brother, Joel Garris and his wife, Natalie; along with four nephews and nieces, Joel Franklin Garris II, Natalie Noel Garris, Joshua Duane Garris and Bethany Faith Garris. A brother, Preston Duane Garris, preceded B.J. in death.
Family and friends will be received Thursday from 1-2 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
