Victor Ed Cox, 70, better known as “Heavy” or “Elotate”, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Ed was born in Wayne County on August 1, 1946 to the late Nita and Victor Elam Cox. He will be remembered as an accomplished musician having been a member of the Warehouse Band.
At his request, services will be held privately for the family. Friends will be received at the home of Jerry Waddell, 4065 Hwy. 13 South, Goldsboro.
Ed is survived by his wife, Lynne Cox; brother-in-law, Jerry Waddell and wife Sally; three nieces, Kim Powell, Amanda Carter, Theresa Coley and their families; and his best friend, Don Ham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jo Waddell.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Cures for the Colors, SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd., Goldsboro, NC 27534 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
