Donald Ray Price, 81, resident of Jacksonvilile and native of Seven Springs, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Onslow Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millard and Nettie Mae Alphin; former wife, Wilma Hill Price; son, Delbert Ray Price; brothers, Kenneth Price and Jimmy Alphin; and sister, Linda Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Retha Price; his children to include a daughter, Donna Pipkin and husband, Billy; son, David Price; daughter, Dale Johnson; son, Johnny Huggins and wife, Linda; and daughter, Kathy Barwick and husband, Joe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a sister, Carolyn Jones and husband, Emmett.
Mr. Price served in the U. S. Army with duty in Korea, had a career in law enforcement for more than 12 years which included being chief of police in Fountain and also serving as a policeman in La Grange, and was chief engineer for several radio stations in area towns including Goldsboro, Kinston, New Bern, and Washington.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 8, at 6 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Emmett Jones, with visitation following. Burial will be Thursday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.
