May 12, 71, La Grange Linda Braswell Taylor, of La Grange, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016. Linda was born in Warsaw on July 11, 1944 to the late Leland Braswell and Mattie Bostic Braswell. Linda’s husband of forty six years, James Erwin “Bill” Taylor preceded her in death on January 19, 2009. Fiercely independent and strong willed, Linda wanted to be involved and know what was going on. Linda was blessed with a musical gift and wrote a number of songs. She loved singing in the church choir and also sung in several different trios and quartets. Linda was a longtime member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Her family has many fond memories of her cooking. She loved summer and cooking fresh vegetables right out of the garden. She took great pride in caring for her yard and flowers. Linda found nothing better than her daily Dr. Pepper and fish from Ken’s on Friday’s. As matriarch of the family, Linda relished her role as wife, mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.
A service to celebrate and honor Linda’s life will be held Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 3 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Mallie Hinnant officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
