February 14, 57,
Diane Wells Coutts, 57, took her last breath at 3:22 on February 14, 2017 following a courageous battle with Stage 4 ALK Lung Cancer. Diane was born February 6, 1960 to Albert and Patricia Wells. She is a graduate of Goldsboro High School.
Diane married Robert (Bob) Coutts in 1977 in Goldsboro. Their marriage produced 3 children: Melissa, Robby and Linley.
Diane lived a life full of love. She was an exceptional daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. If she truly loved you, she loved you with all she had. Diane was employed at First Baptist Church until her cancer would no longer allow. She was strong and brave and fought with all she had until the very end. Diane was the Community Walk Chair of the Goldsboro Out of the Darkness Walk for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. This organization was so important to her, because of the loss of her own son, that she organized the first ever Walk in Wayne County. She was a member of the Friends of Compassion, a group that helps others cope with the loss of a child, grandchild or sibling. Along with her family, Diane loved sunshine, laughter, and WWE.
Diane was preceded in death by her precious son, Robby. She leaves behind her beloved husband Bob, and their daughter Linley Coutts of the home; a daughter and son-in-law Melissa and Elliott Turner and grandchildren Raiford and Leah of Pikeville. She also leaves her parents Al and Pat Wells; a brother Mike Wells of Fountain, NC and a sister Cindy Leonard of Farmville, NC; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services are being held on Saturday, February 18 at First Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. Memorial gifts should be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention 120 Wall Street 29th Floor New York, NY 10005.
