Alton Drew Barrow Sr., 78, quietly passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. Drew was born March 30, 1938 in Lenoir County to the late Daniel W. Barrow and Sallie Sugg Barrow. Drew graduated from Wheat Swamp High School and began his life work as a farmer. Drew loved the land and the life of the farmer. Drew proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserve and was a long time member of Hull Road Original Free Will Baptist Church. In earlier years, Drew was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors. He was a hunter of small game and loved walking in the woods and fields with a gun and one of his bird dogs.
A graveside service of remembrance will be held Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11 a.m. from Hull Road Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
Drew is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Margie Vaughn Barrow; two children, Alton Drew Barrow Jr. and Lisa Ann Barrow; three siblings, Thelma Speight, Carol Trammel and husband, Larry, and David Barrow and wife, Margaret.
Family and friends will be received Monday following the graveside service.
