Janie Norris Strickland, age 76, died Saturday at the Brian Center. Born in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Dayton and Blanche Martin Wilkins and wife of the late Clarence William Strickland. Janie was retired from Borden Manufacturing after 25 years.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family members will greet friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
Janie is survived by three sons, Ronald Johnson and wife, Donna of Greensboro, Victor Johnson of Hyattsville, MD and Troy Mitchell and wife, Summer of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Matthew Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Dusty Mitchell, Christopher Bradley Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Ashley Mumford and Brandi Pratt; and seven great grandchildren.
Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home is serving the Strickland family.
