Janie Sullivan Ezzell, 65, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family.
Janie was born in Johnston County on March 27, 1951 to the late Alvin and Sally Wiggs Sullivan. She was a graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. Janie had worked for many years with Schallcross and later retired from Caterpillar. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Janie will always be loved by her family and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.
A service celebrating Janie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2017 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Interment will follow in the Fellowship Church Cemetery in Princeton.
Janie is survived by her husband of 44 years, Thomas Ezzell; son, John Ezzell of Pikeville; daughter, Tonya Reliford and husband Richard of Princeton; and her grandchildren and the apples of her eye, Hunter, Alexis, and Ethan Reliford. She is also survived by her brothers, James Marvin “Snook” Sullivan, Jimmy Sullivan, and Glenn Sullivan; and sisters, Hilda Bass, Becky Wagner, Bolivia Hamm, and Rita Tucker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Sullivan and Roushin Sullivan; and sister, Frances Grimes.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
