Mildred Irene Williams Anderson

Mildred Irene Williams Anderson, 84, passed away early on Sunday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with her grandson, Ashley Carter at her bed side.

 

Mildred was born in Wayne County on March 21, 1932 to the late Floyd Daniel Williams and Daisy Mae Williamson Williams.  She was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years.  Mildred was employed with Bellsouth, G.E. Plant and retired from Wayne Memorial Hospital in 1998 with 25 years of service, all in Goldsboro.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Teague officiating.  Interment will be Friday, October 14, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Grants Chapel Church Cemetery on Hwy. 55 in Mount Olive.  The family will greet friends Thursday at Seymour Funeral Home immediately following the service.

 

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Marsha Jester and husband Bond of Pikeville and Patricia Head of Aiken, SC; her grandchildren, Chad Head of Aiken, SC, Ashley Carter and wife Karla of Goldsboro, Christina Penny and husband Brian of Murfreesboro, TN, Melissa Johnson and husband Jay of Williston, SC, and Amanda Cline and husband Brandon of Goldsboro; and great-grandchildren, Ashton and Elizabeth Carter, Samantha, Zachary, and Chloe Penny, Kaylee Noggle, Bella Head, Matthew Waters, and Colton Cline.  She is also survived by her sisters, Lucille Rouse and husband Buster of Shawnee, KS, Ruth Montague of King, Doris Lupton and husband Glenn of Mount Olive, and Diane Bissette and husband Tracy of Pikeville.  Mildred also had many special nieces and nephews and their children.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, George Howard Anderson, Jr., sister, Mary Athelean Anderson, and son-in-law, Bobby Lee Head.

 

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Woods Grove P.F.W.B Church at 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
