Trooper Nolan J. Sanders

Trooper Nolan James Sanders,28, of Dudley, died in the line of duty on Friday, March 27. He is survived by his wife, Alexis Sanders and their precious baby girl Laney of the home; his parents, James Thomas “Tommy” and Angela McNamara Sanders of Dudley; his sister Kelsea S. Walters and husband John of Knoxville, TN; his nephew and niece Cruz and Ataly Walters of Knoxville, TN; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Frances Sanders of Mount Olive. Nolan was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Thomas Sanders, Jr., and James and Annie Ruth McNamara.

In addition to serving with the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Nolan was a member of the Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as a Lieutenant. Nolan was a friend to all. He loved to worship with his MOFPHC family, and will be remembered as a fun loving servant of the community who enjoyed a good time, and being with family and friends.

A Private Graveside will be held with Patrolman Honors at Wayne Memorial Park, Dudley. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date with involvement from the NC Highway Patrol, and local fire and law enforcement agencies, as well as for friends to celebrate Nolan’s life.
