Melton Donald “Tootie” Tyndall, 86, of La Grange, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2016. Tootie was born September 17, 1930 in Greene County to the late Roy Lemuel Tyndall and Daisy Harrison Tyndall. Tootie proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked thirty nine years as a mechanic with White Owl Motor Company. Tootie enjoyed the sounds of good bluegrass music and loved spending time camping with Elaine.
A service to celebrate and honor Tootie’s life will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 7 p.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie V. Hobgood officiating. Interment will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from Pinelawn Memorial Park
Tootie is survived by his wife of fifty five years, Elaine Holmes Tyndall; three sisters, Geneva Moore of Vanceboro, Carolyn Barrow of La Grange and Catherine Adams and husband, Hugh of Kinston; one brother, Floyd Tyndall and wife, Faye of Snow Hill. Tootie was preceded in death by five siblings, Jean Tyndall Smith, Jesse Tyndall, Charles Tyndall, Kennth “Buck” Tyndall and Cleveland Tyndall.
