Bobby Ray Evans, 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Wayne UNC Health Care surrounded by family.
Bobby was born in Wayne County on April 25, 1952 and preceded in death by his parents the late Gilbert Jones and Christine Evans Jones, known as Mama Dean. Bobby was raised by his beloved Uncle Leman and Aunt Mary Alice Evans Butts who he lovingly called Momma.
Bobby was a resident of the Waynesboro House of downtown Goldsboro from 1991 until most recently where he had a second family that loved him and that he loved. He had a passion for listening to God’s word on cassette tapes and gospel music.
Bobby was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Jones Wall and Betty Jean Jones. He is survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Seymour Funeral Home from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. followed by graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park on Highway 117 in Dudley.
