December 27, 73, 
Grace Marie Jones Lutz, 73, left this world to be with Jesus Friday morning. Grace was a beloved wife, mother, sister and friend whose love for life and others was apparent to all who met her.
Grace was born in Wayne County on July 20, 1946 to the late Marcus and Tommie Jones. For over 30 years, Grace worked with the Graphic Design Department at Wayne Community College. She was a member of the N.C. Association of Educational Office Professionals and had served in all capacities on the local, district and state level including State President from 1994 – 1995. In 1993, Grace was awarded the Educational Office Professional of the Year for her excellence in service.
Grace was a long-time member of Falling Creek Baptist Church and had attended The Bridge in Princeton. Grace’s faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was her anchor. Her sincere smile, enthusiastic love of life, and concern for all people endeared her to those she met. She loved everyone, encouraged others, and brought much joy to any gathering she was a part of. Grace will be missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church in Grantham followed by a service to celebrate Grace’s life at 3:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Joe Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.
Grace is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jim Lutz; daughter, Stephany Lutz of Goldsboro; son, Wayne Lutz of Goldsboro; brother, Steve Jones of Raleigh; and sister, Cindy Jones of Goldsboro. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Becky Dunbar and Helen Jones.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the compassionate care provided by Community Home and Hospice Care. Love and heartfelt thanks is especially expressed to her nurses, Dana and Susan.
