Rev. David Jesse Crawford, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at The Laurels of Forest Glenn in Garner.
Rev. Crawford was born in Wayne County on January 6, 1932 to the late Jesse Crawford and Katie Warrick Crawford. He served the Lord for over 40 years as an Evangelical Baptist minister. Rev. Crawford was a graduate of Carter Bible College and was past president of the Evangelical Baptist Conference.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Rev. Crawford’s life at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro. A private interment for the family will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Rev. Crawford is survived by his wife, Evelyn Carter Crawford; daughter, Debra Beasley and husband Shane of Raleigh; sons, Ronald Crawford and wife Bobbie Ann of Goldsboro and Barry Crawford and wife Jill of Cary; grandchildren, Caleb Crawford, Joshua Crawford, David Lynn Crawford (Kristi), Sarah Saint Clair (Benjamin), Andrea Saulsbury (Dustin), Daniel Beasley, Chelsea Beasley, Lee Holmes (Amber) and Kaitlyn Holmes; and great grandchildren, Gracie, Blake, Willow, Dawson, Bryant and Bentley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Lynn Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to Samaritan’s Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
