Laurie Jay Jones Koch, 49, life long resident of the Oak Ridge community near Mount Olive, passed away Friday evening, November 29, 2019 while in the care of Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
Jay was employed as a nurse with Kindred Hospice.
Services to honor Jay’s life will be Wednesday, December 4, at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Minister Coy Brock and Minister Jeff Dail will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Family Cemetery near the home. The family will be receive friends at the church before the services, beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, and at other times, the home of her parents is open for friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The Outlaw Foundation, PO Box 189, Newton Grove, NC 28366.
Jay is survived by her husband, Greg Koch; four daughters, Mikayla Koch and Rayanna Koch, both of the home, Kristen Hamm and husband, Ben, of Mount Olive, and Bailey Eyestone of Oklahoma; her parents, Keith and Connie Miller Jones of Mount Olive; her paternal grandparents, Dalton and Evelyn Jones of Mount Olive; a sister, Hollie Martin and husband, Brandon, of Mount Olive; two brothers, D. L. Jones and wife, Tracie, of Mount Olive, and Jonas Jones of Florida; four grandchildren, Grayson Hamm, Connor Hamm, Brooklyn Eyestone, and Paidyn Eyestone; a special cousin, Cheri Gray; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Gloria Koch, a brother-in-law, Geoff Koch, and a sister-in-law, Genelle Gargill, all of Oklahoma.
Her maternal grandparents were the late Lawrence and Ann T. Miller.
