November 24, 88,
Geraldine Langston Daniels, 88, completed her journey home early Sunday morning to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
Geraldine was an encourager and a woman of faith and strength. Her greatest joys came from loving and serving others, especially those in her family and church. She demonstrated her love for God by her random acts of kindness and generosity which will live on in the hearts of many.
Because of her great love for children, she and Hazel Daniels opened Daniels Lullaby Nursery which later became Daniels Day Care. It was the second day care to open in Goldsboro. She was appointed to the North Carolina Day Care Commission where she served for six years. During her 37 years in business, she touched the hearts of many children in Goldsboro and Wayne County.
She joined Daniels Memorial United Methodist Church as a teenager and served the Lord in many different ministries. Her church family was very dear to her heart.
As a homemaker, she was an excellent cook and always enjoyed preparing meals for her family and others. Everyone loved putting their feet under her table.
In her later years, she loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very involved in their lives and treasured her time with them.
Geraldine has left a legacy with her family and friends of what it looks like to love sacrificially and unconditionally. Her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother is a testimony of her faithfulness and obedience as she lived out the purpose and plan of God for her life.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” Proverbs 31:28
A service to celebrate Geraldine’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with her brother-in-law, Rev. Sherrill Isbell, and Rev. Alex Parker officiating. The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Lynn and Larry Chewning. Interment will be in the Daniels Memorial Church Cemetery.

Daniels, Sr.; children, Jim Daniels, Jr. and wife Kathy, Lynn Chewning and husband Larry, and Jeff Daniels and wife Susie; grandchildren, Jeremiah Daniels and wife Kate, Courtney Keesee and husband Ken, Daniel Chewning and wife Conner, Kate Williams and husband Eric, and Anna Daniels; six great-grandchildren, Grace and James Daniels, Kennedy and Carson Keesee, and Ava and Evan Chewning; sister, Lynda Isbell and husband Sherrill of Pensacola, FL and brother, Spencer Langston and wife Linda of Grantham.
