Kay Sutton Hollowell, 79, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Always Compassionate Family Care in Fremont.
Kay was born in St. Lawrence County, New York on November 14, 1939 to the late Hiram and Alice Power Sutton. She was married to the late Rodney Hollowell. Kay was a valued employee of Wayne Memorial Hospital where she worked as a registered nurse for over 23 years. Her sincere smile, enthusiastic love of life, and concern for all people endeared her to those she met. Kay was a member of Pine Forest United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Pine Forest United Methodist Church followed by a service to celebrate Kay’s life at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary with Rev. Madison Hankal officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.
Kay is survived by her sons, William Kevin Monroe and wife Lisa of Charlotte and Kenneth Patrick Monroe and wife Kim of Wake Forest; daughter, Karen Williams of Nevada; step-son, Mike Hollowell of Goldsboro; step-daughters, Carla Massengill and husband Mike of Goldsboro and Amy Hartley of Goldsboro; brothers, William Sutton and wife Barbara of Winthrop, NY, Richard Sutton and wife Joyce of Constantia, NY and Jerry Sutton and wife Kay of Colton, NY; sister, Barbara Hinson and husband Johnnie of Stantonsburg; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to Pine Forest United Methodist Church, 867 N.C. Hwy 581 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530.
