October 31, 87, Mount Olive
Mrs. Panis Carol Moye Williams, Mount Olive resident, passed away early Thursday morning, Oct. 31, at the home of her son at the age of 87.
She was a long time member of Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church where she loved singing in the choir and participating in the Ladies Auxiliary. A bookkeeper for all of her working life, her employment included Southern Bank and Trust Co., Con-Agra, and John Patterson Furniture Company.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Williams; a daughter, Carol Yelverton Connor; her parents, Benjamin F. and Bernice Garris Moye; a sister, Lucille M. Herring; a brother, Gary Moye; and an infant sibling.
She is survived by her son, Michael J. Williams and wife, Lynn P. Williams of Mount Olive; a daughter, Catherine W. Galyon and husband, Charlie Galyon of Mount Olive; grandchildren, David Arnette and wife,Kay, Katy Pearce and husband, Joseph, Lynwood Yelverton and wife, Ashley, Miranda C. Coulter and husband, Josh, Jordan Williams and fiance, Caitlin Gore, and Katelyn Williams; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Pearce, Carly Pearce, Savannah Yelverton, and Addison Yelverton.
The Williams family gives a special thanks to Fran Moore for being an excellent caregiver and companion to their mother during her months of home confinement. They also express appreciation to Community Home Care and Hospice for their support and care.
Funeral Services will be held by the graveside on Sunday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m. in the Maplewood Cemetery of Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Sherman Dilley. The family will greet friends at the cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Northeast Church, 489 Northeast Church Road, Mount Olive.
